We strive to provide critical support to users throughout the UNT Enterprise for budgeting and resource management, financial reporting, business analytics, financial systems support, and State reporting.
Mission
The Office of Financial Analysis & Planning has a strong commitment to provide flexible, solution-oriented and timely service to UNT System institutions and System Administration. In support of the UNT System and individual component missions, the office is responsible for:
- Operating budget policies and guidelines.
- Revenue and expenditure analysis.
- Long-range fiscal planning.
- Budget management reports.
- Financial system access.
- Business process training.
- Alignment of system financial practices with State of Texas regulations and directives.
Values
Jim Gross
Jim Gross has been a valuable member of the UNT System team since 2015. In his current role, he oversees the UNT System Consolidated Budget, Financial System Support, and Budget Analytics teams. Through his leadership, these teams provide critical support for the UNT System, including budget reporting to the Board of Regents and executive leadership, production of the UNTS Fact Book, security and configuration of the Financial System, and reporting and analytics for users throughout the UNT Enterprise. Prior to joining UNT System, Jim served as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Sam Houston State University. While at Texas Tech and TTUHSC, he implemented Finance, HR and Budgeting in Banner, as well as Cognos reporting. With a Masters in Business Administration, Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role at UNT System.
Luis Angulo
Luis Angulo is currently tasked with overseeing the Financial Support Services and the Finance Business Intelligence teams. He joined the UNT family in 2008 as a Lead Application Administrator with UNT, and was later moved to UNT System as part of the Shared Services migration of the Mission Critical enterprise system moves. He has over 20 years of experience in higher education and enterprise mission critical applications under the finance umbrella.
